SHOESTRING THEATRE STANDISH
creating Drama for a Crisis
Presenting
Shoestring Theatre (sometimes called Shoestring Productions) was conceived in April 2005 by three friends (as always, over a glass or two of wine!). The Co-conspirators were Jean Stone (left), Shiela Lucas (right) and Viv Newman (centre right).
The aims were twofold:
• Re-introduce Amdram Productions to the local community in Standish (Nr Wigan, Lancashire)
• To raise money for good causes
Both aims were fulfilled when, in October 2005, a homegrown cast performed for two consecutive nights at the Methodist Church Hall in Standish raising over £1000 for the selected charity "War Child"
This site tells the tale of the staging of the first/subsequent productions and keeps visitors informed of plans for future productions.
