The production company is based in Standish, a community of about 17,000 near Wigan
in Lancashire UK. More information on Standish can be found at
Shoestring, an amateur dramatics company, was formed in 2005 with the aim of staging productions for the people of Standish, with a cast drawn from the local community. The additional, and important, aim is to raise money for charitable causes. As such, all expense has been met by organisors & participants. The only supplement to these running costs is the proceeds from local events (such as dance nights) and hence the overall title of Shoestring Productions.
We do not have a theatre and use whatever facility is kindly offered to us (to date, that means the local Methodist Church Hall).
